Helping New Parents Right From The Start

Healthy Families Yolo County™ is a home visitation program designed to strengthen the bond between caregivers and children from pregnancy to age 3. Our family support specialists provide practical support and education on topics like pregnancy self-care, baby soothing techniques, and nutrition. We also connect families with community resources for health and mental wellness. Healthy Families America® is the signature home visiting program of Prevent Child Abuse America®, the nation’s oldest and largest organization dedicated to the prevention of child abuse and neglect.

Join YCCA and the Yolo Food Bank every Friday at 9:00 a.m. for our food distributions. Located at 1200 Anna Street, West Sacramento. This drive-thru event is open to all families and individuals.

The CalFresh Program, federally known as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), issues monthly electronic benefits that can be used to buy most foods at many markets and food stores. The CalFresh Program helps to improve the health and well-being of qualified households and individuals by providing them a means to meet their nutritional needs.

Domestic Violence Prevention & Victim Support

YCCA partners with Empower Yolo to provide families with domestic violence prevention tools and resources, along with victim support services. If you are in crisis, call Empower Yolo’s 24/7 hotline at (530) 662-1133 or (916) 371-1907.

Mother-Child Support

YCCA partners with Women, Infants, & Children (WIC) Yolo County. WIC helps pregnant, postpartum and breastfeeding women, infants, and children under the age of 5 to eat well, be active and stay healthy, and includes funds for families to purchase healthy foods, as well as individual breastfeeding support for moms. To Enroll in Healthy Families Yolo County

Primary caregivers who enroll must be pregnant, or the child must be 3 months of age or younger at the time of referral. Families must also be Yolo County residents.
