Friday Food Distribution
Every Friday, in partnership with the Yolo County Food Bank, we help ensure that families in our community have access to fresh, nutritious food. Volunteers play a crucial role in making this happen by sorting, packing, and distributing fresh produce, pantry staples, and other essential food items to families facing food insecurity.
This is a hands-on opportunity to directly impact the lives of children, seniors, and individuals in need. Whether you’re organizing food supplies, loading groceries into cars, or offering a friendly smile to those picking up food, your support helps ensure that no child or family in Yolo County goes hungry. Join us in fighting hunger and making a difference—one meal at a time!

Big Day of Giving (May)
Each May, YCCA participates in Big Day of Giving, a powerful 24-hour online fundraising event that brings the community together to support local nonprofits. This is a special opportunity to rally support for YCCA’s programs, which provide essential resources, strengthen families, and empower children throughout Yolo County.
Volunteers can go beyond donating by creating their own personal fundraising campaign as part of our larger effort. Set a fundraising goal, share your passion for YCCA’s mission, and encourage your friends, family, and colleagues to contribute. Whether you host a small fundraising event, promote your campaign on social media, or simply spread the word, every dollar raised helps us continue making a difference.
Join us for this incredible day of generosity and help create lasting change in our community!

Back to School Resource Fair (July)
Every summer, YCCA hosts the Back to School Resource Fair, ensuring that students in Yolo County have the tools they need for a successful and confident start to the school year. This event provides children and families with free backpacks, school supplies, and access to essential community resources to help set them up for success.
Volunteers play a key role in making this event possible by setting up, organizing, and distributing supplies, as well as assisting families as they navigate the fair. Whether you’re handing out backpacks, helping kids pick out supplies, or providing a warm welcome to families, your support helps students feel excited, prepared, and ready to learn.
Join us in empowering the next generation and ensuring that every child starts the school year on the right foot!

Family Fun Barn at the Yolo County Fair (August)
Each August, YCCA participates in the Family Fun Barn at the Yolo County Fair, creating a welcoming and engaging space where families can enjoy interactive activities, games, and access to valuable community resources. This beloved event brings children, parents, and caregivers together for a day filled with laughter, learning, and connection.
Volunteers are essential in making this experience fun and memorable for families! You’ll have the opportunity to assist with arts and crafts, games, hands-on learning activities, and sharing information about local services that support children and families. Whether you’re helping kids with a craft project, running a game station, or simply offering a friendly smile, your participation helps make the Family Fun Barn a place of joy and community.
Join us in creating special moments for families while helping to connect them with resources that support their well-being!

Homeless Resource Fair (October)
At YCCA, we believe that everyone deserves access to basic necessities, support, and dignity. Each October, we host the Homeless Resource Fair, a critical event that provides individuals and families experiencing homelessness with essential resources, hygiene kits, and access to vital support services.
Volunteers play a key role in ensuring that our unhoused neighbors receive the help they need. Whether you’re assembling and distributing hygiene kits, helping individuals connect with community resources, serving meals, or offering a compassionate presence, your time and effort make a real difference in the lives of those facing housing instability.
This event is more than just a day of support—it’s an opportunity to uplift and empower individuals and families, helping them take steps toward stability and well-being. Join us in showing that our community cares by volunteering at this important event!

Community Giveaway Day (November)
As winter approaches, many families in Yolo County struggle to stay warm and meet their basic needs. YCCA hosts Community Giveaway Day each November to ensure that families have access to warm clothing, blankets, food, and other essential items before the colder months set in.
This event is a true community effort, bringing together volunteers to help collect, organize, and distribute donations. Volunteers play a vital role by sorting clothing and blankets, assembling care packages, distributing food, and assisting families as they select the items they need. Whether you’re lending a hand behind the scenes or connecting directly with families, your support helps bring warmth, comfort, and relief to those in need.
No one should have to face winter without the essentials. Join us in making sure that every child, senior, and family in our community stays warm and cared for this season!

Toy Distribution Event (December)
The holiday season should be a time of joy, warmth, and celebration, but for many families facing financial hardship, it can be a stressful time. Each December, YCCA hosts the Toy Distribution Event, ensuring that children in need receive new, donated toys so they can experience the magic of the season.
Volunteers are the heart of this event, helping to sort, wrap, and distribute toys to families. Whether you’re organizing gifts, assisting parents in selecting the perfect toy for their child, or spreading holiday cheer, your efforts help make the season brighter and more joyful for local families.
By giving your time, you’re helping create special holiday memories for children who might otherwise go without. Join us in bringing smiles, hope, and holiday magic to families in need!
