Project Homekey
Providing Shelter and Support to Those in Need
Project Homekey, established in March 2020 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, offers vital shelter solutions for individuals experiencing homelessness. By providing non-congregate shelter options, it aims to safeguard vulnerable populations, alleviate strain on healthcare resources, and ensure proper quarantine and recovery spaces for those affected by COVID-19. For individuals facing health challenges or recovering from COVID-19, Project Homekey offers a refuge to recuperate and receive essential care, reducing exposure risks and providing access to medical support. Rooted in a Housing First model and harm reduction philosophy, the program prioritizes housing based on vulnerability, aiming to swiftly transition individuals and families into permanent homes with tailored support services.
YCCA plays a pivotal role in this initiative, offering comprehensive case management, housing assistance, and support services to participants, with a focus on addressing barriers such as mental health disorders, substance abuse, and homelessness. Our dedicated team provides wrap-around support, assisting with housing documentation, transportation, employment, and independent living skills to empower participants on their journey towards stability and self-sufficiency.
