April is Child Abuse Prevention Month — It Takes a Village
Every child deserves a safe, happy, and healthy childhood. April is Child Abuse Prevention Month, a time to come together as a community, raise awareness, and strengthen our efforts to protect children and support families. This year’s theme, It Takes a Village, reminds us that we all have a role to play in building strong families and safe communities.
One way we’re making this message visible is through the Pinwheel Garden—a bright, moving symbol of the happy, carefree childhoods we want for all children. The pinwheel represents the efforts of individuals, families, and communities working together to prevent abuse and neglect before it starts.
Join Yolo County Children’s Alliance at our West Sacramento Family Resource Center as we plant our Pinwheel Garden and stand together for prevention. Let’s turn awareness into action. Show your support, plant a pinwheel, and help us grow a safer, stronger future for every child.
It truly takes a village—and we need you!
